What's behind Wireless Charging?

The technology we use to achieve wireless charging is the term “inductive charging”. It suggests charging the device using air as the medium and ignoring wires that connect the charger and the device. It works on the concept of electromagnetic field, used to transfer energy between two objects. This can be performed through a charging system.
An inductive coupling comes to play when energy
needs to be sent to an electrical device. This uses
two induction coils to work efficiently. The first
induction coil is used to create an alternating
electromagnetic field within a charging base
station and the second coil takes power from
the electromagnetic field and converts it to
electrical power to charge the battery.

Standardize wireless charging with Qi

After market study, Ziibi has first chosen to cooperate with Qi Standard for wireless charging due to the fact that Qi has widely adopted by mainstream mobile makers such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Sharp, HTC and many more.

Qi is coming from the chinese word meaning "natural energy". It is an interface standard developed by the Wireless Power Consortium for inductive electrical power transfer over distances of up to 4cm. To use Qi-system, the mobile devise is placed on top of the power transmission pad, which charges it via resonant inductive coupling.

Today, Qi's member has more than 200 companies including Nokia, Philip, LG, Energizer, Duracell, Samsung, Verizon Wireless, Google, Toyato, Ikea, and many more.

Wireless Charging is everywhere, you just didn't realize yet!

The wireless charging has been gaining grounds and Qi-standard has became
arguably the most popular wireless charging standard on the market, widely
adopted by a large number of mainstream smartphone manufacturers.
Qi-compliant wireless charging hotspots are expected to appear in public places
such as coffee shops, library, airports, hotels, and many more.

Mc.Donolds and Starbucks, worldwide chain stores have adpted the use of Wireless Charging in most of their stores. Furiture retailer IKEA introduced lamps and tables with integreated wireless chargers in 2015. Toyota, Lexus, Cadillac, BMW have adopted Qi-standard wireless charging in various vehicle lines as well.
